CME, together with its strategic partner Accedo, has won the Best Sustainability Project or Initiative at the CSI Awards 2025, held in Amsterdam. The award recognizes our joint efforts in pioneering sustainable practices in video streaming under the CME Cares Initiative, marking another milestone for CME and the broader Central European media landscape.

The winning initiative, titled Sustainability in Video Streaming, was a collaborative research and advisory project led together with Accedo, a global leader in video solutions and software. Through in-depth user research, interactive workshops, and strategic consultancy, the project explored audience attitudes toward eco-conscious media consumption. These insights directly informed the launch of a sustainability badge on CME’s VOYO platform, spotlighting content produced under Albert-certified guidelines - a first-of-its-kind feature in the Central European streaming market.

The pilot was conducted in partnership with RTL Croatia, part of the CME group, and spearheaded by Matej Lončarić, Chief Digital Officer of CME Adria. His leadership was instrumental in shaping the initiative and driving its impact.

This project reflects our commitment to innovation with purpose. By listening to our audiences and collaborating with forward-thinking partners like Accedo, we’re not only enhancing transparency but also setting new standards for environmental accountability in digital media. We are especially grateful to Accedo for the opportunity to explore innovative features in streaming together. Their expertise and collaborative spirit were key to the success of this initiative.” said Matej Lončarić, Chief Digital Officer, CME Adria.

François Polarczyk, Sustainability Director, Accedo, added: “As audiences become more aware of their own sustainable footprint, the media industry is increasingly looking to include sustainable practices and give audiences the choice to be more sustainable. This project is a great example of how advisory-led insights can be translated into deployed product features, scalable frameworks, and audience-centric innovation.”

The CSI Awards, organized by CSI Magazine, are among the most respected accolades in the broadcast and media technology industry. Celebrating excellence across categories such as content delivery, streaming, and sustainability, the awards attract global entries and are judged by an independent panel of industry experts.

This recognition underscores CME’s dedication to sustainable innovation and our role as a leader in shaping the future of responsible media.
